Petua Air
Petua Air is an exhibition at the E-Gallery of the Faculty of Creative Multimedia, Multimedia University, Cyberjaya, opening on December 28, 2026. Petua means traditional advice or remedy; air is water. Subtitled Water Remedies: Knowledges on Water from Southeast Asia, it is a research-led exhibition on how water is sensed, remembered and understood across communities in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Ho Chi Minh City, building on Futures of Listening: Water Knowledge from Two Cities and KRITIK! Sound Lab. It holds two positions together: how water touches us, and how we touch water. Its spaces follow a movement from encounter to exchange to articulation. Bin Youn shows two works that take up both positions.
Touch of Water
Touch of Water: Memory-Mapping with AR and Sound Journal returns to the campus where it began. On June 24, 2026, teams of students walked the water sites of MMU Cyberjaya and each made a WebAR memory map with a sound journal, with Sigisora, who led the sound journal method. For the exhibition the work is shown as the teams' maps, sound journals and documentation, with a new layer: the Water Atlas, a participatory map that opens to contributions during the show, where people in Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur or Ho Chi Minh City can add a photo of a water they remember and the place it comes from.
Circulation: Air Kuala
Circulation: Air Kuala is an installation and making workshop adapted for a Southeast Asian audience. Three people press small cups with five fingers, and their light travels along a river in a round table to a bowl of water at its centre. When the hands come into tune, the water takes one colour. The Hap offers water as a remedy to someone else, and asks strangers to listen to one another's hands. See the Circulation page.
Timeline
Materials arrive at MMU by November 27 and installation begins December 14, ready for the December 28 opening. For Bin Youn's works the show opens in two phases. From December 28 the digital works are on view: Touch of Water documentation, the Water Atlas, and Circulation films, drawings and simulator. The Hap table is installed in January 2027, together with a Circulation workshop at MMU, with dates to be confirmed with the gallery.
