4 Channels Video Installation with projectors, Aircraft wires, Vinyl Blinds
I picked up fallen flowers on the ground around where I encountered them in the states. I brought them into my room and sometimes dried them for a while. I move them with my fingers gently on the flatbed scanner without closing the lid following the light of the scanner moves vertically. With flowers, I put silica gels which are used to preserve food together. For certain images I created are made with adding lightning against the scanning light.
Two galvanized, coated ⅛ x 30 aircraft wires are used to cross over within 14 feet x 14 feet square space. Screw eyes and turnbuckles are used to fix and tighten them. They make an X-shape making a crossover point in the center of the space. Therefore, there are four lines from the middle point. On each line, two white vinyl blinds are suspended. The blinds are hanging from the wire with thin silver fishing hooks. The size of the vinyl blind is 23 x 72 inches.
At the corners of the space, there are projectors on the stacked white pedestals up to about 60 inches. Each one has a slightly different height. Each projectors have a different color theme cropped Gelora images: Pink, White, Burgundy/Red, Orange. About at least 60 images are showing 60 minutes like a slideshow.
Projecting images are mainly on the walls and some are blocked or penetrating the blinds. The blinds are mostly open but some parts are closed. When the visitors come into the space, they navigate their path, sometimes blocking the images and making shadows.
